A month later, cops still grilling MPs on Bersih 5

Three PKR MPs were called in for questioning today at the Sentul district police station in regards to the Bersih 5 rally, which happened almost one month ago.
The three are Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar and Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul. It is believed that they are being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 4(2)(b) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
According to Johari, said that they were asked many questions on Bersih 5, but mostly replied that they would only answer those questions in court.
"There was a lot of questions, but we chose to reply in court," he said when met by reporters.

He said he was unsure if the three would be facing charges.
Meanwhile, Rafizi urged attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali to reconsider pursuing opposition figures and activists in view of public support for Bersih 5.
On Nov 19, some 40,000 people rallied during Bersih 5 to demand for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's resignation over the 1MDB scandal, clean elections and other reforms.
Although there were no arrests at the rally proper, several opposition and NGO figures were either arrested or hauled up for questioning before and after the rally. -Mkini
