Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli today cancelled his plan to lodge a police report against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak over the Federal Land Agency (Felda), claiming that the authorities will not investigate the matter.
"I had wanted to drag Najib (into the matter through the police report) but I think it will be an excuse to put the report straight into the shredder... so we will focus on Felda's director, (chairperson) Isa Samad, its board of directors and former Felda management.
"I don't want to put Najib in this as it will be an easy way to close the case just like that," he told reporters at the Dang Wangi district police station.
Felda is an agency under the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
Rafizi, who is PKR vice-president, lodged the report against Felda's board of directors and management from 2013 till today for the agency's losses.
"I believe there is basis to investigate them for decisions made in 2013 and 2014, which led to such poor performance.
"This is to ensure they will not mismanage Felda funds and perform their duties as per the Companies Act," he said.
He said Felda's 2014 Annual General Report showed that Felda lost RM1.023 billion.
It also spent RM2.535 billion for replanting while it was RM6.13 billion in debt.
The auditor-general's report 2015 found Felda's management and monitoring is sub par.- Mkini
