KUALA LUMPUR ― Police arrested a man yesterday over suspected involvement in the killing of the estranged brother to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat confirmed the arrest with Malay Mail Online, bring the number of suspects arrested to three.
“He is not the main suspect. We detained him because we needed more information about the second suspect. He is her boyfriend,” Abdul Samah told Malay Mail Online.
“When we got him, (and) through him, we managed to detain the second suspect,” he added.
Police yesterday detained a Vietnamese passport holder over the killing of Kim Jong-nam at the KLIA2 on Tuesday, and arrested an Indonesian passport holder today.
Both women were identified from surveillance footage, according to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
Abdul Samah today said they will detain the man for further investigation.
