‘VX-NERVE GAS? I THOUGHT IT WAS BABY OIL’: INDONESIAN ENVOY CONFIRMS JONG-NAM KILLER SUSPECT SITI AISYAH ‘IN GOOD HEALTH’ DESPITE IGP’S ‘VOMITING’ CLAIM

PETALING JAYA – The Indonesian woman suspect in the murder of Kim Jong-nam said she was “hired” by two men to carry out a “prank” on the North Korean.
Indonesian deputy ambassador to Malaysia Andreano Erwin said Siti Aisyah (pix) claimed that the men, whom she named as James and Chan, “looked like Korean or Japanese.”
Andreano, who was allowed to meet Siti Aisyah for half an hour at the lockup in Cyberjaya police station on Saturday, said she was paid RM400 to carry out the prank for a reality show in Malaysia.
He said Siti Aisyah claimed that she did not know that the liquid – which she thought was baby oil – she was given to swab on Jong-nam’s face was poisonous.
On her connection to Vietnamese suspect Doan Thi Huong, Andreano said that Siti Aisyah claimed she did not know her.
“Siti Aisyah is in healthy condition,” Andreano told reporters, adding that they were waiting for developments in the police investigations.
Officials from the Vietnam embassy were also seen at the station. They did not make any comments.
Jong-nam, 45, half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was killed in KL International Airport 2 on Feb 13 while waiting for a flight to Macau.
On Friday, police said the chemical used by two women to wipe on Jong-nam’s face was the highly toxic VX nerve agent, classified as a chemical weapon under the Chemical Weapons Convention.
