(The Star) – Police have confirmed that they have yet to receive a report from Bukit Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari and DAP Youth committee member Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud over controversial photos allegedly of them.
When contacted on Thursday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said no report has been lodged by the two DAP leaders over the photos.
Four pictures of a couple, said to resemble Zairil and Dyana Sofya, had circulated on social media last week.
The two were seen seated at a table in a restaurant with at least two other people.
Zairil, who is married with two young children, has denied that it was him in the photos, insisting that they were fake.
In a Facebook post last week, Dyana Sofya said it was the third personal attack on her in two months, and an intrusion into a person’s private life.
Penang Gerakan has urged the two leaders to lodge a police report if the photos were fake.
“They have denied that they are the ones in the photographs and those images are fake, so they should lodge a police report,” said the party’s publicity bureau chief Ooi Zhi Yi
Penang DAP chief Chow Kon Yeow said that Zairil had explained to the party’s top leadership over the photos.
