About 3,000 investors from China turn to money-lending service to help them find Alex Wong, founder of Richway Global Venture, after receiving no payouts since last month.
PETALING JAYA: A group of Chinese nationals have resorted to hiring a licensed money lender in Malaysia to help get their investments back from the founder of money game scheme Richway Global Venture, China Press reported.
One of the investors from China said that he represents 3,000 fellow China nationals who invested in the agriculture-cum-forex investment scheme founded by Alex Wong.
“I’m willing to give half of what I had invested as a reward if the (money-lending) company can find Wong and help me and other investors recover our money.
“We have not received the due payouts since last month,” the man was quoted as saying by the vernacular daily.
The group is looking for Wong, who is said to have started Richway Global Venture in May last year.
According to China Press, they alleged Wong had cheated them of RM1.2 billion through Richway Global Venture.
The man, who has been in contact with the money-lending service online, said some of the investors were also considering coming to Malaysia to file police reports over the alleged cheating case.
However, he did not disclose how much he had invested in the scheme and his total losses. -FMT
