PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is steadily recovering from his heart surgery last week.
His political secretary Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said Hadi was responding positively to treatment.
"(Hadi) is also undergoing physiotherapy training to improve him physically," Ahmad Samsuri said in a statement today.
The statement was accompanied by a photo of Hadi, who appeared to be in good spirits.
The 69-year-old underwent a scheduled three-hour surgery to replace a leaking heart valve at Institut Jantung Negara in Kuala Lumpur on May 16.
Hadi's health had been a cause of concern after he missed key events and was frequently absent during Dewan Rakyat proceedings.
According to IJN, his leaking heart valve had been affecting his ability to conduct daily activities.
The surgery was conducted by a panel of doctors led by IJN CEO and senior cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Mohd Azhari Yakub.
