Ipoh woman who faked kidnapping jailed three months

IPOH: A woman, who faked her own kidnapping, was sentenced to three months' jail by the Batu Gajah magistrate court on Monday.
Nurfauzilah Ariffin, 39, pleaded guilty when the charge was read to her by the court interpreter.
On May 9, the mother of six was remanded after it was revealed that she had concocted the story of her kidnapping to avoid paying debts.

She had alleged that she was abducted while out delivering goods to her customers on May 3. The case went viral on social media.
She had sent a picture of her abduction to her husband and a WhatsApp voice note asking for help.
Police later found her at a kindergarten in Shah Alam and she was promptly arrested.
It was later revealed that she had faked the kidnapping because she wanted to escape from her debtors.
Her husband, a policeman, who lodged a report at the Perak Tengah district police headquarters a day later was not involved in her kidnap plan.
