Nazri does the math on how Shafie, Muhyiddin got more from RM2.6b

Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz has revealed how he arrived at the conclusion that his share of the RM2.6 billion was less than former Umno leaders Mohd Shafie Apdal and Muhyiddin Yassin.
Nazri said he, Shafie and Muhyiddin were all Umno division heads and MPs at the same time, and the amount of money received from the party depended on the number of branches in each division.
"So prior to the last general election, we as division heads received money from the Umno headquarters to repair houses.
"Every house was allocated RM5,000 and each branch was asked to find five houses to repair. (My division) received such funds (to be disbursed to branches).
"So I oversaw 60 branches (in Padang Rengas). So 60 multiplied by five houses (multiplied by RM5,000) makes RM1.5 million. I received this through my service centre.
"I said that Shafie received more than me because Semporna has many Umno branches - more than 200 - while Muhyiddin (as former Pagoh Umno division head oversaw) more than 100 branches.
"I had only 60," he told Malaysiakini at the sidelines of a TN50 dialogue in Kuala Lumpur today.
On Monday, Nazri accused Shafie and Muhyiddin of receiving a bigger slice of the RM2.6 billion donation which Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak purportedly received from a Saudi royalty.

Following this, Shafie denied having received such funds.
Meanwhile, Nazri said if Shafie did not receive such funds, it is likely because the latter came from a wealthy family.
"I believe Shafie, as head of the Semporna Umno division and MP, received helped from the Umno headquarters to repair houses in his constituency.
"If he is denying it, it could be because he comes from a rich family... He has a house in London, so perhaps he doesn't need money from the Umno headquarters," he added.- Mkini
