Perkasa flags fly at MIC headquarters

Flags of Malay rights pressure group Perkasa lined in front of the MIC headquarters this afternoon, not as a sign of support, but a warning.
Leading the charge was Perkasa Youth chief Azrul Akmal Saharudin, who took offence at MIC treasurer-general S Vell Paari likening the organisation to the Islamic State for its endorsement of controversial Muslim preacher Zakir Naik.
Under the fluttering yellow Perkasa flags attached to bamboo sticks, Azrul, and his supporters, sporting a songkok, condemned Vell Paari.
"Perkasa Youth cannot no longer remain patient with MIC's insolence and we will ensure Malay Muslims will not vote for MIC in any seats it contests.
"Perkasa Youth also wants BN to re-evaluate MIC's position in the government - particularly on their insolent position with regard to Act 355 and Zakir Naik," said Azrul.

He reminded that many seats contested by MIC has significant number of Malay voters.
Azrul also urged MIC president S Subramaniam to reprimand Vell Paari and to advise his party members "not to play with fire".
He warned that there could be a "backlash" by Malay Muslims, represented by Perkasa.- Mkini
