Wong Chen 'vindicated' after reinstatement of allocation by Selangor gov't

Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen will revive welfare aid disbursement to his constituents next week, following the Selangor state government's reinstatement of allocations to his constituency.
In a Facebook post, the PKR lawmaker said he felt "absolutely vindicated" by the decision.
"I am currently in Parliament engaged in debates with ministers. Meanwhile, back in office, my officers have received a letter stating that our community spending have been cleared and reinstated. In other words, after further investigation and having taken into account my explanations, the Selangor government has decided to lift our community spending freeze," he posted.
"This is very good news for my urban poor constituents. Going forward, we will now quickly revive our Bulan Kebajikan program next week to help the urban poor," he added.
Back in May, Wong had expressed disappointment with the way the Selangor state treasury had conducted an audit in his office in March, which he said was done without his knowledge.

Following the audit on Wong's office's spending in 2014 and 2015, the state government froze RM250,000 annual allocation given to his constituency.
Then in June, Wong announced that he was suspending welfare programmes for his constituents.
Last month, Wong said that the audit issue and the allocation freeze may affect PKR's chance of retaining Kelana Jaya, which he won with a more than 28,000 majority in the 2013 general elections. - Mkini
