Pahang regent Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has warned contractors granted public infrastructure projects in the state against using low-quality material.
"We want to avoid unwanted incidences that could cost damage to property and loss of life.
"I don't want the construction of public infrastructure to be substandard or of cheap quality in the interest of profits.
"Use material of good quality which can last longer," he was quoted as saying by dirajapahang.my.
Tengku Abdullah, who is also the Pahang crown prince, said this during a visit to a landslide in Cameron Highlands.
Part of the Sungai Koyan-Ringlet road collapsed due to the irrigation system failing to properly channel water runoff. -Mkini
