Zahid: Continuity of mandate means more developments in Terengganu

The continuation of the mandate to administer Terengganu is urgently needed by the state government to bring more progress and prosperity to the people, said Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said apart from making the Terengganu government stronger, a greater mandate would also push for strong support from the federal government.
"We know the continuity of this mandate is urgently needed for the Terengganu government to become more solid and supported by the top leadership," he said when opening the 2018 Terengganu Expo at the compound of the Gong Badak Sports Complex.
Also present were the deputy prime minister's wife, Hamidah Khamis, Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Jailani Johari and the state leadership lineup.
The 2018 Terengganu Expo, themed "Terengganu Molek Doh", organised by the state government for a week from yesterday to March 3, showcased the many success stories by the people of Terengganu all these
while, aided by various government departments and agencies along with their high commitments.
In addition to entertainment, the state government cluster, district cluster and portfolio clusters were also featured during the expo.
Zahid said focused planning and implementation which were carried out by the Terengganu state the government had benefited the people directly and indirectly.
He said the benefits could be seen as exhibited in the 2018 Terengganu Expo which covered various fields.
In this regard, he hoped the people would give greater support to the Terengganu state government in the 14th general election to ensure the continuity of development in the state.
Zahid was satisfied with the team leadership spirit that did not allow Razif to be alone in governing Terengganu which had made the state more developed.
"I am excited about the teamwork, the state executive councillors, the state secretary (Wan Nawawi Wan Ismail), government officials and others who gave full support to Razif.
"It is a great loss if petty issues are made major ones but I see such issues have been resolved,” he said.
Zahid, who is also BN deputy chairperson, said political, public administration, corporate and other support to the menteri besar would promote good relations between the states and the federal government.
He hoped that the good scenario would encourage BN to win big in GE14.
At present, BN holds 17 seats out of 32 state seats while PAS has 14 and PKR one.
For parliamentary seats, BN has four seats while PAS has four seats.
