Kayveas of MyPPP to sue over claims he sold Tan Sri titles and bought expensive properties

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri M. Kayveas (pic), who is the disputed MyPPP president, will take legal action over allegations that he had sold titles and bought properties beyond his means.
"The president is taking several legal and lawful measures to ensure justice prevails," its party secretary-general Datuk Roger Ly said in a statement on Monday (July 16).
Online portal The Malaysian Insight reported that Kayveas was alleged to have abused his power to purchase properties beyond his means and had also allegedly sold honorific titles such as "Tan Sri's".
Ly said ever since Kayveas had announced on April 17 that he will probably take the party out of the Barisan Nasional coalition, things had been "going ballistic" against the president.
.He also lamented the personal details and data leaked, that have gone viral on social media, adding that the law will be used to go after the leakers.
"Despite the legitimate (MyPPP) supreme council getting clearance from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) and the official confirming Kayveas as the president, several party officials continue to practice vindictive, gutter politics," he said, referring to a group which is disputing that Kayveas is the party president.
He added that Kayveas will take all measures within Malaysian law to ensure that that such "gutter politics" would be put to a stop.
"I have protested in the recent past, but it's time to punish those who are bent on corrupt, destructive, vindictive and gutter gangsterism," he quoted Kavyeas as saying.
Ly also said that Kayveas will ensure that the rule of law emerges as the champion in Malaysia's current state.
Kayveas was previously expelled from the party and Datuk Seri Maglin D’Cruz had assumed the role as its acting president.
D’Cruz had maintained that Kayveas was no longer a member of MyPPP as of April 25 and that Kayveas has been misleading party members and the public claiming that he is still president.- Star
