PKR's Seri Setia assemblyperson Shaharuddin Badaruddin is critically ill, according to Sin Chew Daily.
The report said that Shaharuddin, the Selangor exco in charge of Islamic affairs, had been suffering from colon cancer.
Several PKR leaders who were asked about Shaharuddin's health merely referred to the report in the Chinese-language daily.
Wanita PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, however, confirmed to Malaysiakini that the first-term assemblyperson had been ill.
"Yes, he is not that well, but I'm not sure of his status as per the (Sin Chew Daily) report," she said.
In the May 9 general election, Shahruddin won the Seri Setiaseat by a landslide, garnering 29,250 votes.
He beat out BN's Yusoff M Haniff who won 9,878 votes, PAS' Mohd Ghazali Daud with 4,563, and independent S Vigneswaran with 217. - Mkini
