PETALING JAYA: A magistrate will be charged for graft in Kuantan tomorrow, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said, the second judge to be hauled to court for corruption this year.
Mohd Amin Shahul Hamid will face eight counts under the MACC Act 2009, the anti-graft agency revealed in a statement.
He will be charged at the special corruption court in Kuantan at 9am.
Last month, a Sessions Court judge was charged with accepting bribes to only fine illegal immigrants nabbed by the authorities. He claimed trial.
Azmil Muntapha Abas also pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of accepting RM5,000 to only fine six people convicted of purchasing a lottery ticket. - FMT
