CORONAVIRUS | Bersatu divisions will each be receiving RM4,000 worth of aid, to help members affected by the Covid-19 crisis.
The party has 189 divisions, meaning the aid will total RM756,000.
"The party president (Muhyiddin Yassin) is honoured to give aid to each division to be given to affected members," read a letter signed by Hamzah Zainuddin, whom Muhyiddin appointed as party secretary-general.
The letter was posted by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal yesterday, thanking Muhyiddin (photo) for listening to Bersatu Youth's suggestion.
According to the letter, the RM4,000 will be divided into RM2,000 for the main division, and RM1,000 each for the Women and Youth wings.
The letter suggests that the aid be given to members in the form of necessities worth RM50, such as 5kg of rice, 1kg of sugar, 1kg of flour, rice noodles, a carton of eggs, and 1kg of cooking oil.
The letter urged division leaders to cooperate and ensure that affected members will receive the aid.
There is currently a movement control order in force in the country where movement is restricted to stop new infections of Covid-19.
The order has been extended to April 14.
Muhyiddin, who is also the prime minister, will be announcing further economic stimulus this afternoon, which he said would be more comprehensive. - Mkini
