PKR Youth wants heads of 18 'traitors' linked to Azmin to roll

Malaysiakini

A PKR Youth group has demanded that 18 leaders linked to former deputy president Azmin Ali, whose exit from Pakatan Harapan led to the collapse of the coalition-led federal government last week, be expelled.
Led by PKR Youth secretary Ahmad Syukri Che Ab Razab, the group submitted a memorandum on this to the party leadership this afternoon.
Speaking to reporters later, he declined to reveal the names of the 18.
“We demand that the 18 be investigated and action taken against them. We are certain that the list does not cover all of them, there are more.
“But these 18 are most crucial, they were close with the former deputy president who was sacked and was with him in Sheraton (Hotel) and other secret meetings,” he added.
According to Syukri (photo), 1,789 PKR members had endorsed the “sack the traitors” memorandum, which also contained evidence of alleged wrongdoings.
The memorandum was handed to the party's central leadership council and disciplinary board.
'Anwar's tolerace no longer suitable'
Syukri warned that the continued existence of these “traitors” could prove “cancerous” to PKR in future.
“PKR Youth is concerned that if these people remain in the party, they will become cancerous...We urge (PKR president) Anwar Ibrahim not to give them face.
“The president has a big heart. He tried to maintain the party's harmony but they abused this for their faction's gain,” he added.
Syukri said he disagreed with Anwar, who was willing to forgive these individuals.
“We respect his stand… But being too tolerant is no longer suitable in the current situation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Syukri, without mentioning names, also targeted leaders whom he claimed were now pledging their loyalty to PKR for self-protection.
“PKR Youth realises that some from this group are now claiming they are loyal to the party. But we believe this is to protect their status or posts,” he added.
Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari (photobrushed aside an alleged plot to remove him and advised the instigators to repent.
Amir, who is known as a close ally of Azmin, said he has set aside his personal allegiances for the sake of the party.
“I was with him (Azmin) as long as he was with the party. But when he left the party, I will toe the party line.
"I will be with PKR in line with my promise during my campaign in the (GE14) election. I am a party man," he had said.
Over the weekend, furious PKR members had also assaulted vice-president Tian Chua outside the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya. He was also seen as aligned to Azmin.
After submitting the memorandum, the PKR Youth group displayed placards which read: “Sack traitors”, “Gang Azmin, Please Get Out”, “Sack Barua, Si Kitol”.
Others present were PKR Youth vice-chief Thiban Subramaniam, exco Shariful Azmir Mustafa, Selangor PKR Youth vice-chief Pravin Murali and Federal Territories PKR Youth deputy chief Mundzir Zahir. - Mkini
