CORONAVIRUS | Today marked the second day in a row where no new transmission of Covid-19 was detected among Malaysians.
As of mid-day today, the Health Ministry recorded only two new Covid-19 cases in which one case involved a Malaysian returning from abroad and another involving a foreigner.
During his daily press briefing today, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (above) noted that this was the lowest number of new cases recorded since the start of the movement control order (MCO) period.
Currently, there are still 1,206 people being treated for Covid-19. Five of those being treated require intensive care while none required ventilator support.
There was one new death recorded that was attributed to Covid-19. The victim was a Malaysian male, 61, with a history of illnesses. He was admitted to the Sungai Buloh hospital on March 15 and died this morning.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry announced that 39 more Covid-19 patients were discharged today. The total number of known people to have recovered from Covid-19 is 7,014 which represents a recovery rate of 84 percent.
