CORONAVIRUS | Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob urged the public to exercise self-restraint in light of the more relaxed version of the movement control order (MCO).
The recovery MCO, as announced by the Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday, would allow the public to travel to other states and involve in recreational activities.
"I believe many people will go back to their hometown (on June 10) as they couldn't do so during Hari Raya.
"I hope although there is permission, self-restraint and discipline must be maintained.
"Don't take advantage of the freedom, and please continue to look after your health," Ismail said in a media conference in Putrajaya today.
The recovery MCO will be effective from June 10 to August 31. It replaced the previous conditional MCO.
He also reminded local tourists to continue observing standard operating procedures such as social distancing.
"Although the conditional MCO expired, there is the recovery MCO, and the public are subjected to follow regulations under Act 342," he said.
Act 342 referred to the Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988. - Mkini
