The MACC has arrested two senior executives at a government-linked company on suspicion of graft.
The two are the GLC's general manager and account manager, respectively.
The duo allegedly received over RM800,000 from a supplier that was executing a contract to install a broadband Internet system for a government agency worth millions of ringgit.
The alleged offence under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009 was made between 2012 and 2016.
The duo was arrested at MACC’s headquarters in Putrajaya at about 4.30pm yesterday. MACC investigation division director Norazlan Mohd Razali confirmed the arrest with reporters.
The alleged offence under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act is punishable under Section 24(1) of the same act.
The provision stipulates up to 20 years of imprisonment along with a fine at least five times the value of the bribe or RM10,000 whichever is higher. - Mkini
