Environment and Water Minister Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has encouraged people in Kelantan to take advantage of rainwater in the state due to its better quality.
He said this is because Kelantan is less exposed to pollution from industries.
"Kelantan is among the states that can take advantage of rainwater because there are not many industries or air pollution," he was quoted as saying by Harakahdaily.
Tuan Ibrahim said this after officiating a community water treatment project in his constituency of Kubang Kerian, Kelantan today.
Water is a hot button issue in Kelantan as the East coast state has for years been plagued by dirty water supply.
The PAS deputy president previously attributed the water problem to piping in the state that is "too old".
He said a holistic solution, including replacing the pipes and expanding existing reservoirs, will take between 30 and 40 years. - Mkini
