COVID-19 | Police are probing the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort for alleged non-compliance with the Health Ministry's (MOH) orders to shut down.
The police found the resort was continuing to operate yesterday.
"MOH issued an order to close the golf resort on Saturday (Oct 10).
"MOH officials lodged a report on Sunday at the Damansara police station that (the resort) was still operating and a team of police officers dispatched there confirmed it," said Petaling Jaya police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, as quoted in The Star.
The shutdown order was issued to facilitate contact tracing and sanitisation after workers at the resort tested positive.
Nik Ezanee said 23 workers have so far tested positive, and MOH would be doing mass screening tomorrow.
Meanwhile, asked about whether a conditional movement control order would be implemented in Petaling Jaya, he said the police would be making recommendations based on their monitoring on the ground.
"For now, everyone in Petaling Jaya should lessen their movement.
"Once you finish work, go home. Try to postpone gatherings and ceremonies for the time being," he said. - Mkini
