YOURSAY | Haul those behind failed emergency move over the coals

YOURSAY | 'Why only the two (Hamzah and Azmin) to resign? Why not the whole cabinet?'

COMMENT | To reset the scene, Muhyiddin should remove Hamzah and Azmin

Proarte: This article by DAP leader Liew Chin Tong is not seeing the wood for the trees. Liew is on record for having a close and respectful working relationship with then home minister Muhyiddin Yassin, but yet he could not see that the 'Sheraton Move' was in the pipeline.

It is obvious Muhyiddin was lying through his teeth in his interaction with Liew. This is the problem with the DAP - they were awestruck, or more appropriately, dumbstruck in being with the same government and hobnobbing with former Umno bigwigs and the 'Mahafiraun'.

If Liew, the 'DAP strategist', did not hear the audio recording of Muhyiddin discussing the 'Sheraton Move' with Dr Mahathir Mohamad, then he has no right to call himself a strategist.

It was clear in that recording that Muhyiddin and Mahathir were on the same page as far as betraying Pakatan Harapan and causing its collapse, but they differed only in the timing of the move. Muhyiddin was confidently leading the discussion, saying he was convinced he could get the support of his former Umno colleagues.

The audio recording was a charade anyway, aimed to show that Mahathir and Muhyiddin had differences of opinion, again just to fool gullible people in Harapan. The fact of the matter is that Mahathir was the chief architect of the 'Sheraton Move'. Mahathir's aim was to destroy PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim's chances of being PM and to undermine DAP's increasing acceptance by all races.

If anyone who has to resign, it is Muhyiddin, the mascot of the Sheraton Move, along with ‘cheerleaders’ Azmin Ali and Hamzah Zainudin.

Muhyiddin lost credibility in the eyes of the rakyat in the wake of the 'Sheraton Move' betrayal and now, with the rejection of the Emergency by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Muhyiddin has lost any vestige of credibility and is a virtual sitting duck.

When Muhyiddin resigns, which is likely to be very soon, Azmin and Hamzah will automatically fall off their perch as well.

Macky: I don’t agree with this article by Liew. Why only the two (Hamzah and Azmin) to resign? Why not the whole cabinet? This government has never got the legitimacy to be there anyway.

Don’t even think about saving the political class, including yourself, Liew. Nothing short of a vote of confidence in Parliament for whoever is PM, or else, go for election.

Let’s overhaul everything, including the erstwhile weak PN government, which was not able to save itself from the clutches of its own power.

Fair Play: Liew, look at the bright side. When a ship is about to sink, the first action the captain would do is to throw all excess baggage into the ocean to make the ship lighter, so as to stay afloat longer.

Sooner or later, Muhyiddin has to make that decision about Hamzah and Azmin, and some others too.

Hang Babeuf: "To reset the scene, Muhyiddin should remove Hamzah and Azmin" - and then, like a good Roman, fall on his own sword.

Enough of you! Please go! Now! That is what failed generals and exposed plotters care supposed to do.

MP SPEAKS | Why did PM hold emergency meeting like thief in the night?

MS: "Why did PM hold emergency meeting like thief in the night?" asked DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.

Muhyiddin, stressed beyond his capacity by a plummeting economy, the rapidly rising number of infections following the engineered Sabah disaster and the raging flames of conspiratorial politics, has exposed himself for what he really is - a small-minded peon whose vaulting ambition and little else shaped his choice of political lowlife as co-conspirators.

Now facing the endgame when his fair-weather friends (in low places) demand their pound of fleshy positions, he resorts to the old trick crooked regimes have always used to rid themselves of their enemies - as in the case of Sarawak chief minister Stephen Kalong Ningkan in 1966.

Crookedness requires secrecy, the cover of darkness and stealth. Only when the plot has sufficiently thickened to be served will the conspirators and their many enablers emerge from the dark - be it at a brightly-lit Sheraton Hotel or a glitzy, gleaming palace. We have seen it all before.

As Stan Grant wrote in the ABC earlier this week: "The virus of tyranny has already found itself in the bloodstream of liberal democracies."

Headhunter: It's time for all Malaysians to make a call to the Muhyiddin regime to resign. They have shown that they are abjectly dismal in managing the country.

His cabinet is full of non-performers. No one knows how each of his cabinet members is performing because they are like bears in hibernation. They either make fools of themselves or are simply sleeping on the job. Please resign before you destroy the country beyond repair.

CucuMalaysia: One hand cannot clap. If Muhyiddin were not power-greedy and crazy to be PM8, he wouldn't have plotted with (not listened to) the King of Frogs.

A man of goodness is like an oak tree, sturdy and unshaken even in the strongest wind.

ZainiHussin: We salute you, Lim. Your approach shows that you really care more for Malaysia and Malaysians than those politicians who scream out empty racist rhetoric time and again but do not care for Malaysia or Malaysians.

They are there simply to fill their pockets and enrich themselves. Our Agong should have called you for advice under these trying circumstances.

OrangeHawk3664: Overcoming the challenges to get Budget 2021 approved may be the last thing on Muhyiddin and his cronies’ minds for implementing a state of emergency.

The continuity of him as PM and his cronies in the cabinet are the drivers of all policies rolled out since PN took power.

VP Biden: In the bygone days, ‘askar malam’ (night soldiers) were referred to those who earned an honest living by going house to house to collect human excrement while the house dwellers slept.

This bunch of ‘askar malam’ are trying to throw excrement at the rakyat and hope to get away with it. Trust nobody, only the rakyat can put these politicians in their place. - Mkini
