Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein has been appointed as the new BN treasurer-general, according to BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid said the minor reshuffle to strengthen BN's organisational structure was carried out after discussion with other component party leaders.
"Therefore I have appointed Hishammuddin (above) as the new BN treasurer-general," he said in a statement.
Hishammuddin, a former Umno vice-president, replaces Putrajaya MP Tengku Adnan Mansor who will retain the position of Umno's treasurer-general.
"BN records our highest appreciation and gratitude to Tengku Adnan over his contributions as BN treasurer-general," Zahid added.
The minor reshuffle within BN was announced amid rumours of a larger cabinet reshuffle, as well as Umno's move to strengthen its Muafakat Nasional pact. - Mkini
