COVID-19 | The Covid-19 virus has hit a religious boarding school in Machang, Kelantan hard, infecting 41 students who are supposed to sit for SPM soon.
State health director Dr Zaini Hussin (above) said the students at SMKA Wataniah have been transferred to quarantine centres after testing positive today.
He said one of the students was in close contact with a patient from the Pangkal Changgong cluster.
"We are still doing contact tracing to avoid the virus from spreading," he told Malaysiakini.
The Pangkal Changgong cluster, which was classified on Tuesday, now has 56 cases.
Zaini said the index case in the cluster was a student at a school in Pangkal Changgong.
Kelantan reported 88 new cases of Covid-19, with the state total being 3,999 cases.
Under current SOPs, students at boarding schools are allowed to stay on campus while waiting for SPM examinations to begin on Feb 22. - Mkini
