Umno supreme council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi has targeted his own party colleague after the latter was accused a second time of violating the standard operating procedure (SOP) during the movement control order (MCO).
Zooming in on Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa, Puad said it appeared that the Ketereh MP kept giving excuses.
He noted that Annuar was yesterday accused of eating at a table of six at an urban farm event in Kuala Lumpur when the SOP to curb the spread of Covid-19 had set the limit at two.
"Annuar again gave an excuse that he was only seated for a short while and had left because the organiser did not comply with the SOP.
"If he already knew that they did not comply with the SOP, then why did he sit there even if it was for a short while? Where's the logic?" Puad said on Facebook.
He added that Annuar similarly gave an excuse when he was out exercising with two other people who were not from his household.
According to the SOP for outdoor exercise during MCO, a maximum of two people are allowed to go out jogging together and they must be from the same household.
Annuar had said that the trio bumped into each other by coincidence.
"Good at finding excuses. The question is, why did they continue to walk together?" Puad said.
Puad, who is in a different party camp than Annuar, had been critical of the latter.
Annuar is among the vocal Umno leaders in favour of cooperation with Bersatu within Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Puad is in a separate Umno faction which wants the party to contest under BN in the next general election, setting the coalition on a collision course with PN.
BN is also courting PAS to join forces but the latter is favouring PN. - Mkini
