Cops seize Gerakbudaya computers over ex-AG’s book

The police have paid a third visit to the publisher of former Attorney-General Tommy Thomas’ memoir since investigation papers over the publication were opened.

This time around, they seized two computers from publishing house GB Gerakbudaya Enterprise Sdn Bhd.

Speaking to Malaysiakini, Gerakbudaya founder Chong Ton Sin confirmed that the investigation was related to the book My Story: Justice in the Wilderness by Tommy, which was published by its imprint SIRD.

“Two cops came at 11am today, and they are handling our computers now so that they can take back and investigate,” said Chong.

He added that this was the third time Gerakbudaya was investigated over the matter.

However, no books were confiscated throughout the process but the authorities have bought copies of the book from the bookstore previously, he said.
