KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry will introduce a special TV Pendidikan channel known as DidikTV KPM, which will air special programmes based on the ministry curriculum.
Starting Feb 17, DidikTV KPM will air from 7am to midnight daily on channels 107 on MyTV, 147 on Astro, and ntv7 on TV Unifi.
"For Integrated Digital TV using antennas, the DidikTV KPM channel can be found via automatic scan.
"DidikTV KPM channel would also air news on education, edutainment programmes and content produced by students.
"In addition, appropriate international programs will also be broadcasted," the ministry said in a statement today.
It added that DidikTV would be launched by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on its first day on air, at 8am.
The ministry said this special channel was part of its continuous efforts in increasing access to quality education for all students nationwide.
"Previously, the ministry has provided 11-hour TV Pendidikan programmes through RTM's TV Okey, Astro's Tutor TV and DidikTV@ntv7.
"For the first time, the ministry will introduce a dedicated terrestrial TV Pendidikan channel with programmes from 7am to midnight every day.
"DidikTV KPM will also act as a platform to empower the culture of knowledge, instil good values and create an informed society." - NST
