Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob will be filing a police report over an "old video" that made the rounds on social media today.
The video was of Ismail attending an event, with some people not wearing face masks, and sitting together with them at banquet tables.
Checks by Malaysiakini found that the video was from the launch of 2020's Tabung Pahlawan at the Hotel Royale Chulan in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 15 last year.
According to a press invite sent to reporters, Ismail will be lodging his police report tomorrow, claiming that the video "clearly intends to slander him".
The clip appeared to be mostly shared on WhatsApp.
There are a few posts on Facebook, including one by a PKR member, who tried to compare the new dining-in health SOP limiting patrons to two per table with the crowd in the video featuring Ismail.
The defence minister has on several occasions claimed to be the victim of fake news. - Mkini
