KOTA KINABALU: Several delays in food aid delivery in the state are due to unreachable home addresses or unregistered change of contact numbers.
Sabah Community Development and People's Wellbeing Minister Shahelmy Yahya said such problems happened between September and December last year.
"From our experience between September and December last year, there had been delays in giving out the food baskets.
"It is due to addresses that are not fixed, or contact numbers that have been changed," he said in a statement, adding that the authorities will look into solutions to improve the system.
As of yesterday, the ministry had distributed 3,395 food baskets under the 2.0 Covid-19 Bantuan Prihatin programme to targeted recipients.
Today, Sabah recorded 190 Covid-19 cases, with one death reported in Sandakan.
Three new clusters that had emerged are Jalan Satu at KKIP here, Ladang Tangkarason in Beluran and Bandar Lama in Tawau. - NST
