PETALING JAYA: Housing and local government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin and senior minister for education Radzi Jidin have been conferred the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah award, which carries the title “Datuk”, by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
They are among 335 to be conferred awards in conjunction with Federal Territories Day today.
In a statement, Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa said six awarded the Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah award, which carries the title “Datuk Seri Utama”.
They are Penang governor Abdul Rahman Abbas, Sabah governor Juhar Mahiruddin, the Sarawak governor’s wife Ragad Kurdi Taib, Melaka governor Ali Rustam, finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz and Pahang menteri besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Twenty-four were awarded the Seri Mahkota Wilayah, which carries the title “Datuk Seri”,including de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan and energy and natural resources minister Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
A total of 111 of the 335 recipients will be conferred their awards today.
The rest will receive theirs at a ceremony to be held later because of Covid-19, but the titles which come with the awards can be used, said Annuar. - FMT
