Johor MACC has completed the first phase of its probe on PKR's Sekijang MP Natrah Ismail's claim of enticement to secure her support for Perikatan Nasional.
The anti-graft commission's director Azmi Alias reportedly said four witnesses, including Natrah, were summoned to have their statements recorded.
"Our investigation is complete for the first phase and we have submitted it (investigation papers) to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).
"The MACC is still waiting for the AGC's decision for further action," Azmi said at a press conference after an event attended by MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil at the commission's state headquarters in Tampoi.
On March 4, Natrah, who did not disclose the alleged amount offered, claimed there was an attempt to poach her to support Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, which she rejected.
She claimed the offer was made the day before by two persons, including one with a Datuk Seri title.
Following Natrah's revelation, there were speculations that she was offered up to RM10 million by the unidentified individuals.
On March 7, she lodged a report on the matter with Johor MACC that launched an immediate probe.
Johor MACC also said the RM10 million allegation made on a Facebook page called "Ops Johor" was untrue and that it had confirmed the matter with Natrah. - Mkini
