Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh lamented that Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa has been unresponsive towards opposition MPs in Kuala Lumpur and wondered if he was distracted by the political tussle between Umno and Bersatu.
"To date, my Kuala Lumpur opposition MP colleagues have yet to receive a response from a minister to our letter dated Dec 7 requesting for a meeting.
"It's been four months, and the minister has yet to provide an appointment date," she said in a statement.
Yeoh (photo, above) said she had also written to Annuar on Feb 16 to meet over the Taman Rimba Kiara case but also received no response.
The Court of Appeal had quashed a plan to develop the green lung in Taman Tun Dr Ismail due to a conflict of interest by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). DBKL is appealing the decision.
Yeoh pointed out that there was no other way to get answers from the government as Parliament had been suspended under the emergency.
"Our letters go unanswered, no appointment date is given, Parliament cannot sit, what other ways can we raise our issues with the minister?
"I hope he can immediately provide an appointment date for all opposition MPs in Kuala Lumpur.
"Make use of his power for the interest of the people and not be preoccupied with the squabbling between Umno and Bersatu," he said.
Annuar is Umno's most vocal pro-Perikatan Nasional leader who favours cooperation with Bersatu.
However, the Umno annual general assembly last weekend decided to cut ties with Bersatu in the next general election.
It also plans to quit the PN government, tentatively in August, when the emergency expires. - Mkini
