Kelantan Health Dept fixes data entry error on woman's vaccination status

The Kelantan Health Department admitted that a data entry mistake had caused a woman’s MySejahtera records to show that she had received a Covid-19 vaccine dose even though she did not get the jab.

The department’s director Dr Zaini Hussin apologised over the matter, saying that it was an unintentional mistake by a vaccine dispensing centre counter staff when keying in the identity card number of a frontliner who was receiving the vaccine.

However, he emphasised that contrary to the woman’s claims, her personal data remains secure.

“There is no leak of personal data of the individual concerned. We have taken corrective measures on the woman’s particulars.

"System validation is done from time-to-time too as a quality control measure,” he told Malaysiakini

Earlier, a woman expressed her surprise when she tried to register for the National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme through the MySejahtera app, but found the records showed that she had already received the first dose of the vaccine at the Selising Health Clinic, Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, on March 3.

The Facebook user Iena Zarina Mustapha also questioned how the mistake could have happened and whether it meant her personal data had been leaked.

Meanwhile, Zaini said the person who actually received the vaccine had already been informed and the relevant data is being consolidated. - Mkini
