Popular preacher Ebit Lew has helped a homeless boy whose parents allegedly died of Covid-19.
In a Facebook posting, Ebit shared that he heard of a 12-year-old boy sleeping on the streets of Bukit Raja in Klang and was determined to help him out of his plight.
"He's still small and already homeless. Such a pity… (he) has no direction. Many people want to help and some of them messaged me (about the boy).
"I immediately went to find him. When I saw him from afar, it broke my heart. How can he sleep in a place like this?" Ebit said.
The preacher added that the child's parents had allegedly died from the coronavirus in January.
"The boy is so well-mannered. When I asked him about his parents, he cried."
After bringing the boy to the police station to lodge a report, the philanthropist whose full name is Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, took the child to a shopping mall to pick up essential items before sending him to a madrasah (religious) school.
"I asked him whether he wants to enter madrasah school and he said yes. (He said) he wants to meet his parents in heaven.
"Despite this being a short meeting, I felt close to him… I pray that he will be a religious and successful person. Until we meet again," Ebit said.
