AYER KEROH: Barisan Nasional has won 21 of the 28 seats that were up for grabs at the Melaka polls, giving it a two-third majority in the state assembly.
This was confirmed by the Election Commission here tonight. In a press conference earlier, EC chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh said the polling process had gone smoothly today.
BN had already won a simple majority at 9.42pm, allowing it to form the state government, he added.
MCA won two seats while MIC won one after having been wiped out in GE14, while PKR lost in all 11 constituencies that it contested this time around.
DAP won four seats while Amanah won one, the Bukit Katil seat which its chief minister candidate Adly Zahari was defending.
Meanwhile, Bersatu delivered the two seats for PN seats.
