NUBE said the protests were to highlight various key issues, including persistent union-busting attempts by bank managements, exorbitant salaries paid to CEOs, access to training, fair pay and a safe environment in which to work.
it said in a statement.There is an ongoing fight for fair wages and benefits, ensuring that all bank employees are compensated justly for their hard work and dedication,
The union said bank employees were being denied opportunities to attend paid training and upskilling programmes, which it said were essential for career advancement and job security.
Banks should address issues of bullying, discrimination and harassment in the workplace, and push for a culture of respect and dignity for all employees.
It said police were present during the pickets but did not intervene.
NUBE said the picketing was well-received by the public who were also unhappy with the salaries of CEOs.
