Commenting on a statement made by PAS leader Annuar Musa, Gua Musang Umno deputy chief Syahbuddin Hashim said BN candidate Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani has his own advantages, despite being 38 years old, because he is well-known and has been serving the community for some time.
According to Syahbuddin, the Gua Musang Umno Youth chief served the constituency while working for former assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusoff.

Bersatu is said to be considering two names to be PN’s candidate – former Gua Musang Umno Youth chief Sheikh Razali Hamad or Kelantan government officer Sun Najaman Muhamad for the Aug 17 by-election.
Meanwhile, Syahbuddin, who is also the leader of the opposition in Kelantan, said the narrative that voting for BN is akin to supporting DAP will only serve to sow hatred among the people.
