Doctor’s date night with wife lands him RM11mil jackpot

 

The punter said he would share the winnings with his siblings and save the balance for his children’s future expenses.

A doctor from Penang won RM11.77 million betting on the numbers on the receipt for an anniversary dinner with his wife last month.

The 53-year-old told STM Lottery Sdn Bhd that the winning numbers “4486” and “5704”, which appeared on the receipt, caught his eye after he had paid for the candlelight dinner.

“I truly understand now why the Cantonese have a saying that if you love your wife, you will become rich,” he said.

The winner came to collect the winnings with his wife and thanked the gaming company for the “wonderful anniversary present”.

He said he would share the winnings with his siblings and save the balance for his children’s future expenses.

The remaining sum of RM219,975.30 in the same jackpot was won by an education group employee from Sarawak. - FMT
