KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today held a meeting with Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the meeting was held in a harmonious atmosphere and in the spirit of unity.
"This meeting reflects political maturity and a firm commitment to strengthening cooperation for the sake of national stability, particularly in the context of relations between the federal government and the Sabah government.
"Close cooperation between state and federal leaders is essential to ensure that the people's aspirations are fulfilled comprehensively and inclusively," he said.
Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, added that political stability is a crucial foundation for development agendas and the well-being of the people.
"I hope this spirit of consensus will continue to serve as the foundation for stronger national unity, for a progressive, just and prosperous future for all Malaysians." - NST
