SEGAMAT: Police had received a report on a Facebook account in regards to the Johor flag, being displayed upside down.
Segamat OCPD Supt Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said the upside-down state flag was spotted on the top floor of a hotel at the Taman Yayasan commercial area near here.
“Investigation on two of the hotel employees found that one of them had unintentionally hung the flag upside-down," he said in a statement.
Supt Ahmad Zamry said the suspect, a foreigner, corrected the position of the flag after being reprimanded by his fellow worker.
“Upon inspection, the foreign worker possesses valid travel documents and work permit," he said.
“We are in the midst of completing the investigation papers and refer it to the Deputy Public Prosecutor," he said.
Supt Ahmad Zamry called upon those who have information on crime-related activities to go to any nearest police station in the district or contact the Segamat police hotline at 07-9324222. - Star
