JOHOR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Johor arrested five, including three civil servants, suspected of submitting false documents to claim cattle supply payments totalling about RM200,000 from a statutory body.

The suspects — four men and a woman aged between 30 and 60 — were arrested separately today while giving their statements at the MACC office in Segamat between 11am and 2pm. They included a company owner and a manager.

Initial investigations revealed the suspects allegedly endorsed and filed falsified documents in February 2023 for cattle supplies that were never delivered.

Johor MACC director Hairuzam Mohmad Amin\@Hamim confirmed the arrests.

The case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. Three suspects will be taken to the Segamat Magistrate's Court tomorrow for a remand application. - NST
