PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today issued a stern reminder to school principals and headmasters, urging them not to cover up bullying cases in their schools in an attempt to protect the school's image.
Anwar stressed that even in minor bullying cases, shielding the perpetrators is an offence.
"Some school principals and headmasters are more concerned about protecting the school's image.
"If bullying is covered up, it is considered an offence. It amounts to protecting a crime, even if the bullying seems minor," he told reporters after performing Friday prayers at Surau Jannatul Firdaus in PPAM Seruling here.
Anwar said he heard such concerns firsthand from children when he visited a mosque for Friday prayers. NST
