PETALING JAYA:
Two 14-year-old students were injured after they were hit by a car while crossing the road on Jalan Sentul near SMK Convent Sentul in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 2.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Zamzuri Isa said the incident occurred at about 11am, involving a car driven by a 30-year-old man.

“The investigation found that the driver is believed to have failed to notice the red light,” he said in a statement today.

He said both girls sustained injuries to their legs and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver was unhurt.

It is not known if the driver was arrested, but Zamzuri said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving resulting in an accident. - FMT
