PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested three people, including two Chinese nationals, suspected of involvement in 14 house break-ins in the Klang Valley and Seremban since August.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said police made a breakthrough after arresting a 37-year-old man from China in a car at the City Park area in Seremban 2 on Nov 8.

He said a police team from Seremban 2 made the arrest following a housebreaking report at Taman Sri Carcosa on Aug 13, involving the loss of RM35,000 worth of jewellery and several branded watches.

Police found tools believed to be used for burglary activities, including metal cutters, screwdrivers and crowbars, in the car.

In a follow-up operation, the Seremban criminal investigation department detained a 60-year-old Malaysian man and a 64-year-old woman from China at a house on Lebuh Pudu in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 10, Bernama reported him as saying today.

The CID team seized 27 branded watches, nine pieces of jewellery, three bank cards, five branded bags, a laptop, RM18,000 in cash and foreign currency from the house.

“Seremban police have solved seven burglary cases in the district and seven cases in Selangor (with the arrests),” he said.

The suspects have been remanded until Nov 15 to assist in the investigations. - FMT
