BANGKOK: The men's kabaddi team made history at the SEA Games by winning Malaysia's first gold medal in the sport on Thursday.
The team defeated hosts Thailand 28-16 in the final at Rajamangala University of Technology.
Coach Gurmit Singh, a former national hockey player, had prepared the national teams for the Games.
However, there was no double joy for the national contingent as the women's team narrowly missed out on gold after losing 22-23 to Indonesia in their final. - NST
