Amir Hadi says he found out about the restriction after checking the MyBorderPass app.

In a statement, Amir said he was not aware of the reason for the restriction and would contact Bukit Aman to seek clarification and find out the process to lift the travel ban.
Amir said he was prepared to cooperate with the authorities if there was an ongoing investigation involving him or Mandiri.
“A restriction without any explanation does not reflect a democratic country. Freedom of movement is a fundamental right of every citizen,” he said.
When contacted, Amir told FMT he decided to check his status after a friend was stopped from entering Malaysia upon returning from Jakarta last week.
Amir subsequently checked his status through the MyBorderPass app and discovered he was subject to a travel restriction.
He also said Bukit Aman imposed the restriction.
FMT has reached out to the home ministry for comment. - FMT
