KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 — The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) will examine witness statements, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and various other evidence before deciding on further action in connection with an incident involving Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.
Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said this after the AGC confirmed receiving the investigation papers on the case, which occurred at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on September 28.
He said all evidence gathered during the investigation would be thoroughly examined to enable the AGC to determine the next course of action.
“The AGC will examine every aspect of the investigation before any further action can be taken in connection with this case,” he said when contacted today.
Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the investigation papers had been submitted to the AGC for review, advice and further directions in accordance with Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution.
So far, 25 witnesses have had their statements recorded to assist in the investigation.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which covers the offence of voluntarily causing hurt, illness or bodily weakness to another person.
Mohd Shuhaily had previously said that he left it to the government to decide on any action that might be taken against him following a viral video showing him reprimanding two individuals at KLIA Terminal 1. — Bernama
