There are some major developments affecting air power in the Middle East. The Syrians have claimed to have shot down Israeli ground-to-ground missiles. If this is true it represents a significant air defense capability mainly the Russian S200 and S300 missile systems which Syria now has in its arsenal. This really changes the balance of power between Israel and Syria.
Now in Yemen, the Houthis are successfully shooting down Saudi warplanes. They shot down a Panavia Tornado last week. The latest news is the Houthis have shot down a Saudi F15 Eagle, a dated but still very advanced, top-of-the-line jet fighter.
new report Yemeni air defense used new domestically-designed and-produced missile against Saudi aircraft.
Yemen’s al-Masirah tv reported Yemeni forces intercepted Saudi F-15 early Jan 8
development came only hours after Yemen shot down Tornado combat aircraft

If this is the beginning of a new defense capability then the Saudis (and Israelis) are really in trouble.
The Israelis will be under duress to launch another pre-emptive war against the Hezbollah. The Saudis will have to keep their fly-boys at home.
Here is the Russian S300 system:
